Meet the Founder

Susie Stockwell is a senior marketing strategist and trusted communications advisor with more than twenty years of experience helping mission-driven organizations develop effective, high impact marketing and communications strategies. Susie specializes in working with small yet ambitious teams in the fields of arts and culture and education to raise visibility, build audience, support fundraising, and position organizations for success. She's overseen and partnered on numerous branding initiatives, leadership transitions, fundraising campaigns, and museum and building launches.

Prior to launching her consultancy, Susie spent more than a decade at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt), the nation’s only independent public college of art and design. As Executive Director of Marketing and Communications and a member of the President’s cabinet, she led a team responsible for the college’s brand strategy, media relations, digital communications, and reputation management. During her tenure, she oversaw major marketing and communications projects like the opening of the MassArt Art Museum and the College’s Design and Media Center. She also partnered closely with advancement to grow the MassArt Auction to a $1 million fundraiser for ten consecutive years. Her work in recruitment marketing was recognized with the Grand Gold Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education for best recruitment video.

Earlier in her career, Susie held marketing and communications roles at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, MA and the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C., where she developed integrated campaigns, managed media relations, oversaw the brand and website, planned events, and led development communications initiatives. Susie holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Museum Studies from Harvard University Extension School and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Marketing) from American University.

Park + Lex Consulting was inspired by Susie’s two children, Parker (7) and Alexandra (3), who motivate her every day to leave a positive mark on the world for the next generation.
